How to avoid infecting your loved ones?
(thread)
If we don't protect our loved ones from within-family infections, cases will rise even with a lockdown.
- Drop shoes outside
- Place bags near door
- Wash hands till elbows
- Disinfect phone
- Throw clothes to wash
- Wash glasses
- Shower
- Do the above without touching furnitures
- Disinfect laptop, mouse & chargers
This can be done by…
- Having him wear a mask
- Having him stay in a room
- Dedicating a bathroom to his private use (if you have >1)
- Having him eat separately (so that he doesn't spit on food)
- Having him avoid kissing / hugging
- and so on
It's hard, it's painful, but remember: in China, a huge chunk of the cases came from within-household contagion.
Do you really want to risk infecting your loved ones?
It's also very stressful. Following the measures above could at least make your household a safe space, where you can not worry about the virus.
It is my understanding that China sent teams to test people door-to-door, and suspected cases were quarantined in separate ad-hoc buildings. This helped them avoid in-family contagion.
The better we do self-quarantine, the lower the chances that further, draconian steps will be needed.
Good hygiene is important not only to preserve health, but also freedom.
