For all my friends wondering about #COVIDー19 and #coronavirus and especially those returning from travel or exchange, I wrote a short thread of some ideas to keep in mind... 1/n

First: if you are returning from ANY TRAVEL, please self-isolate for 14 days. Stay home, use a separate room/washroom, don't touch your face, wash hands, etc. More info below 👇. 2/n

When buying supplies, please avoid hoarding. We must ensure that there is enough supply for healthcare workers and vulnerable populations (e.g. those w/chronic diseases or the elderly) who may have trouble getting what they need. 3/n
If you are sick, #SelfQuarantine immediately and call your local public health unit. Don't rush to ER or testing center; you may put yourself & others at risk. If you cannot cope with symptoms, then absolutely go to ER, but call ahead so they can take precautions. 4/n
For everyone: in order to #FlattenTheCurve, every single person needs to engage in #SocialDistance. This means avoiding going out to events, malls, gatherings, cancelling travel/vacations, and not meeting up with friends...5/n
...These are aggressive measures to slow the spread of disease, which will hopefully reduce strain on the healthcare system. This is ++relevant as we continue to ramp up testing and identify cases. @AriadneLabs has a great article for more info. 6/n
