2/ Firstly, the issue of a joined up response.We do not have a disability sector that works hand in hand with the health sector. We do not have access to health facilities, nor a good, working #NDIS. We are less likely to be able to access medical services when NOT in a pandemic.
3/ That is one of the assumptions that non disabled people have - that we are somehow looked after.Some facts.There IS now data, held by the @NDIS, but that data is used secretively by @dssgovau and is not used to inform emergency responses. We do not have supports of most kinds.

The faked video that purports to show Nancy Pelosi "drunk" has now received 3.9 MILLION VIEWS on Facebook (and growing)

Facebook says it won't remove fake videos because it's not in the news business

Facebook is abetting a Trump smear campaign. (Again.)
These statistics come from Crowdtangle, which is an analytics service owned by Facebook.

Facebook also drove millions of views to the fake Youtube videos of Pelosi (which Google now took offline)

I am so sick of these takes. There are so, so many reasons we want to approve things and journalists apparently don't get any of it fucking hell.
Who pays the price of mistakes? The scientist, and the people reading. When a journalist misrepresents a finding it is frankly likely a benefit to them (sensationalist or simplifying) and a huge cost to us in so many ways - reputation, time, support for funding.
We constantly have so much of what we work on checked by each other, reviewed, approved, discussed further... we are continually passing through approval gates from people qualified to argue a point with us. Heaven forbid we expect that at the end step too?
