So you know:

The phrase “dismissed with prejudice” is being used about the troll farm case dropped this week.

This is a term with legal meaning.

Dismissed with prejudice means it CAN NOT be refiled.

Dismissed without prejudice means it COULD be refiled in the future (subject to the statute of limitations.)

If the court order does not say one way or the other, the default is that it is dismissed without prejudice.

The “with” or “without” relates to whether there is a prohibition (prejudice) to refile or not refile. It really means:

a. dismissed with prejudice to refile, or

b. dismissed without prejudice to refile.
