As the whole world waits in uncertainty amidst a worldwide #coronavirus pandemic, it's important to remember those for who uncertainty has become a way of life 🌍
Movement restrictions: Free movement of Palestinians in the Occupied Palestinian territories has been controlled by the Israeli army for over 50 years.
Access to food & medicine: In the Arab world's poorest country, Yemen, people have been lacking access to food & medicine.
Fear & uncertainty: China has been and continues to systematically harass Uyghurs and other Muslim ethnic groups.
Separation from loved ones: As a result of the conflict, many people in Syria are separated from their friends and family. Still.
Remember: We are all in this together. Not more than ever, let's stay united.

Reports that five Palestinians in Gaza have been killed by Israeli airstrikes today are deeply worrying. The ensuing escalation in violence between Israel and Palestinian armed groups raises fears of a rise in civilian bloodshed. We are closely monitoring the situation.
Palestinian armed groups and Israeli forces must also refrain from carrying out indiscriminate attacks and direct attacks on civilians and civilian objects. These are serious violations of international humanitarian law and constitute war crimes.
We strongly condemn attack on the Palestinian Independent Commission for Human Rights whose office in Gaza was struck by an Israeli missile earlier this morning. Strikes targeting civilian buildings is a violation of international law. We are sending our solidarity to @ICHR_Pal.

For 1st time in decades U.N. Sec. Council is taking up the issue of Jammu & Kashmir. They need to remember that their mandate is to protect int. peace & security, so they should resolve the situation in a way that puts rights of J&K people at its centre. amnesty.org/en/latest/news…
We reiterate our calls to Indian government to act in accordance with int. human rights law. Their actions have thrown ordinary people’s lives into turmoil, subjecting them to unnecessary pain & distress on top of the years of human rights violations they have already endured.
The people of Jammu & Kashmir should not be treated as pawns in a political crisis, & the international community must come together to call for their human rights to be respected.

1. At work:
✅If you're in a position of leadership, get on the same page with the rest of leadership
✅Know your institution's policies, collate them in 1 place, disseminate to employees
✅Be proactive in asking folks how they are. What ? do they have? If you don't know, say so
✅Amidst all the physical preparedness, don't forget to check on their mental and emotional health.

We are all scared. Uncertain of each coming day. Of each coming hour.

Don't assume when folks are quiet that they are not scare, confused, or just need a little comfort.
