I have some interesting observations

Endemic Malaria countries like Sierra Leone have not reported any, Zimbabwe 1 case, so are many African countries. In globalised world wrong to think they have isolated themselves.
I would like to underline & highlight the word "Countries with Endemic Malaria" where we are asked to take chloroquine or Hydroxychloroquine prophylaxis to visit or are quarantined in developed countries after returning from these visiting Endemic Malaria countries.
India too is an endemic country especially the eastern states & coastline. Does this explain low numbers?

I don't know if Malaria plasmodium is giving resistance or use of Anti Malarials. Suggest that ICMR to look at it & advise prophylaxis with Anti Malarials if it is right
PS: Look at the speed & alacrity with which Trump administration moved to approve Chloroquine for use in Covid. I will not be surprised if prophylaxis is advised there.

Individually than #CoronaVirus in India since the curfew & measures taken. Everything looks like overkill now. I said this before, I repeat again; we will be laughing at it sooner.

Media gone bonkers
I have been a student of epidemiology till date from the first day of my practice.

If any disease is virulent + shorter latency as Covid19 then it will be mitigated earlier than later.

It is those like HIV, TB, Malaria which can remain dormant & resurface later, that do damage
Virulent + ↓latency viruses/bacteria catch the eye of public policy makers & funds move in fast to scientists, labs to create drugs/treatment regimens.

We already have a treatment for Covid19 so all the media hype must stop. Govt must not be put in undue pressure by them

An Illiterate Tribal went to Bank for Loan of INR 2,00,000/- to buy Buffaloes.

Branch Manager asked what Collateral Security will he offer.

Since the Tribal didn't Understand the Concept, Branch Manager explained in detail about Collateral Security.

The tribal kept his house as Collateral and Loan was sanctioned for INR 2,00,000/- @ 9% interest for 5 Years.

In 6 months Tribal repaid entire Loan. Branch Manager was very happy & asked him what he was doing with the excess Money in hope of Getting his FD target fulfilled.

Tribal told he kept it in his house locker.

Manager pitched for his FD deposit saying that Bank will give 7 % interest and that his Money will Grow.

Now Came the interesting Part

Dear friends

I am today asking you for a favour. Seva Bharati in with Jangama Mutt at Nagasandra in Hosur runs a school for children from Meghalaya. I am associated with both Seva Bharati & Jangama Mutt. We were asked to close down the building which houses the children++
(cont) the children & instructed us to shift the children to orfanages run by churchis in Krishnagiri TN. We refused & shifted them to another mutt in Sarjapura Bangalore. We took it as a challenge to construct new building as per norms & started it about 6 months ago +
We are stuck due to paucity of funds, mutt, myself, friends & family members have done our best to finish construction but we are running out of time. We need to finish by May end to get permission for next academic year. So I have to request for funds from all +

I don't find this unexpected. We had similar results in the study of SARS. Challenge with the virus after vaccination actually made the resulting disease worse. One theory is this may be due to an overactive immune response due to a cytokine storm.
What I find really troubling is doctors in China had to report this anonymously to avoid communist censorship. We are not getting the whole story here. Keep in mind we don't yet know how many cases this involves and we'll have to wait for more case studies in other countries.
