People need to understand that while Trump’s behavior is erratic and dangerous, it isn’t unpredictable. We are stuck in an authoritarian cycle and history shows us what he’ll do: Blame conspiracies and minorities and build to seizing power.

Authoritarians are predictable. They’re insecure but dangerously self-assured. Those traits propel them to power because they’re unafraid to grow a fascist movement based on fear and anger. They’re incompetent and their failures lead to dangerous scapegoating.
Trump is a textbook authoritarian. This is obvious to everyone except his cult and people still clinging to myths of American exceptionalism and the falsehood that’s we’re above losing ourselves to fascist movements. We’re in a lot of danger. Denying it only makes it worse.
