Let’s say this is the worst case situation and from here what options do we have to do better and get out of this 2/10
This is based on my interpretations of information from all the following and readings of reports from really smart people and epidemiology specialists and scientists. Here is what in my opinion are the options with assumption that vaccine is 18 months out 3/10
Also current level of testing is only effective with lockdowns and stay at home orders and moment it is released the situation will immediately go out of control 4/10
First - Make testing easily accessible to masses, should be in every pharmacies, urgent care and physicians office and possibly including self testing and faster test results, should be few mins to less than an hour 5/10
Second - Identify a working treatment plan, chloroquine or remdesivir or any antiviral and make medications widely available and free or subsidized by Govt 6/10
If all energy is spent parallel on this long term strategy without just blinded by immediate measures we should have answers for both in next one month and another month or two to work out production,logistics and supplychain with full support from public and private sectors 7/10
Ideally from June or possibly May testings can start and help identify,isolate with supporting treatment plans. In a month or two from then Jul/Aug we should have this under control and country can slowly turn to normalcy. Possibly in another few months we have herd immunity 8/10
Till the widespread testing starts with the volume and speed we have to be in lockdown to ensure healthcare system is not inundated. While the efforts are not trivial, US has the best shot to achieve it and set model for the world 9/10
If it’s not possible by $20 trillion economy then who can. There is probably better plan worked out by smart folks in govt but unless we hear clearly laid out plans this uncertainty could cause bigger issues. It’s tough situation but we can get out #COVID19 #QuaratineLife 10/10
