From a Sports Direct Employee: “I’d have thought head office would have a bit of compassion but apparently not...we are told to wear rubber gloves in work and that is it. No customers adhere to the 2 metre rule and management doesn’t care.“
“We are not being paid to isolate, we have to claim Uni Credit or SSP (they don’t help us apply)...they told us on 0hr contract to look for alternative work because they don’t have the hours to employ us. Only staff will be paid 80% wages on govt scheme we will lose out”
From another Sports Direct employee: “I don’t know of a single store level staff member anywhere who wants to remain open. No one expected for a second we would be open in a full lockdown.”
