Privileged, salaried people sitting in air-conditioned homes next to stuffed refrigerators and larders are (a) declaring India's 21 day lockdown a "success already", and (b) criticizing poor people desperately walking about trying to find groceries to survive.
I don't think I've ever hated Bangalore's homogeneous gated communities and its RWAs (residents welfare associations) as much as now. Mediocre, selfish people dismissive of life just outside their community gates.
Fearful and confused citizens desperate to just survive. The army of bureaucrats and experts that must have drafted the PM's address *to the nation* didn't see this coming?
