It's odd, that--variations in mathematical-mindedness among the human population. I'm mathematically-minded enough that I could do the math and make the correct estimate of how many would die.

I *really believed* this would happen. My behavior reflected this belief. Many philosophers and theologians believe your acts are the true measure of your faith. Clearly, my acts reflected my faith in the data we've got so far and the math.
