Major warning issued from three Republicans - Tim Scott, Ben Sasse, Lindsey Graham - who say there’s a “massive drafting error” in the stimulus bill. And they would prevent the Senate from fast-tracking its passage unless it is addressed.

There are draft versions of the stimulus bill circulating on the Hill but it has not been officially introduced - even though the Senate plans to vote on it today. So there’s still time to change the language. But doing that could open up a whole new can of worms
The warning has to do with how the unemployment benefits are structured in the bill, according to a source with knowledge of the dispute. The dispute could delay quick passage of the bill given that they are asking for changes of a key component of bill
The senators' fear, the source says, is that some workers would see the enhanced unemployment benefits as an incentive to leave their jobs. But proponents say that the enhanced benefits are only temporary -- and do not outweigh the significant benefits people get by holding a job
Changing the unemployment benefits would create a whole new set of issues, and could divide the Senate GOP. Sens. Portman and Grassley helped negotiate this compromise. If no deal, McConnell may have to file cloture - and delay the final vote for days
Graham says if it’s not a drafting error (it’s not) then “it’s the worst idea I’ve seen in a long time.”
The senators want a vote on an amendment on this. Other reporters and I pressed them about how far they would go over this and whether they would drag out the process. They wouldn’t say. So it sounds like they want vote on an amendment, which would fail, then allow final passage
