This clip is quite shocking. If this is the CMO/Deputy CMO view they should resign. That only low income countries should do viral PCR testing and contact tracing?? That we traced every case initially? Many UK areas still have low intensity +would still benefit from test/trace!
Let us look at a country, South Korea, which has done nearly 400,000 tests and published the findings for their people. Look at the distribution of cases. Two areas account for 80% of positive tests and cases and deaths Image

Showing how negative tests have risen and positive tests fallen as they controlled their epidemic. Image
So can we have similar data in the UK? When the deputy CMO says we don't need to test and trace in 'delay phase', why about 50 local authorities with <10 confirmed cases? Why is our public health system not testing and contact tracing? Why are we treating the UK as uniform?
Korea's epidemic started before us. Yesterday they report 9798 confirmed cases and 150 deaths out of 61 million people. 146 cases and 9 deaths yesterday. The UK reports 14543 cases, and 759 deaths out of 67m pop. With 181 deaths yesterday. And growing.
Error here...Korea's population is 51 million not 61 million.
