Because politicians & services CANNOT plan for everything.

There is a list of nightmares all risk assessed. A flu pandemic was amongst them, one of many and was assessed as high risk and almost as high Impact.

It even noted it could have a 2% fatality rate. 600k deaths

It is why they “war game” in Operation Cygnus”
They have a warehouse full,of Tamiflu ready to go at a secret location.

But CV19 is not flu.

SARS was an earlier similar but crucially NOT the same and experienced most severely in Asia, leading those countries to prepare for another outbreak with more resilience.

My Vacuum cleaner bags make pretty effective masks!

I wonder if my HEPA cleaner bags would be even better..assuming they fitted!

Oh well. If you see me around wearing a vacuum cleaner bag, don’t ask...
HT @DudleydeBeau for this terrific little video using HEPA filter vacuum bags to make masks. Seriously.

Now why, if we are stuck, aren’t we contracting with HEPA vacuum bag makers to run a load up...assuming we can get them in different sizes and buy masses of elastic?

Jos tämä vuosi on opettanut jotain, se on #kärsivällisyys. Sekä palasten laki. Vuosi alkoi rymäyksellä kun olkapää meni, kesken hyvin käyntiin saatujen, sinällään kärsivällisyyttä edellyttävien projektien kanssa. Tuli lähes kuukauden paussi, mutta nyt ollaan entisessä vauhdissa.
No Luojan kiitos, että olen saanut saman vauhdin päälle. Etenkin kun nämä projektit jo itsessään ovat kärsivällisyyttä vaativia, palasista rakennettuja kokonaisuuksia, jotka vaativat kokonaisuuden ja osien hallintaa alusta loppuun. Maltilla.
Jopa nollausmetodeissa kärsivällisyyttä on koeteltu: reilu pari kuukautta ilman juopottelemista ja ns.ravintolakäyntejä. Witcherin pelasin läpi, mutta jouduin aloittamaan huomattavasti aiemmasta kohdasta, koska sain sen huonoimman lopun pelille, joten piti "palata ja korjata".

1. Bad rules of engagement in Afghanistan and Iraq got people killed, needlessly. Part I of this series provided an overview of what ROEs are in general, with some expert commentary on bad ROEs, etc.
2. Part II continues commentary from a couple of folks who wish to remain anonymous (special ops, covert CIA contractor, Marine) on Iraq ROEs and the politicization of both the Afghanistan and Iraq campaigns. I then wrap up the series with a short summary and conclusions.
3. <begin quotes> Same-o for Iraq, but by then the FBI had honed their skills at causing grief. I hate to say it, but I once let three guys get away that had lit me up with a PKM at night, landing me (alone) on the side of the road.

Schwere Herzkrankheit des Verstorbenen seit Geburt, mehrere Herzoperationen danach, versagensbereites Herz durch das es jederzeit zu einem Herzinfarkt kommen konnte.

Ob jemand strafrechtlich verantwortlich ist für den Herzinfarkt, ist im Ermittlungsverfahren.
