My Vacuum cleaner bags make pretty effective masks!

I wonder if my HEPA cleaner bags would be even better..assuming they fitted!

Oh well. If you see me around wearing a vacuum cleaner bag, don’t ask...
HT @DudleydeBeau for this terrific little video using HEPA filter vacuum bags to make masks. Seriously.

Now why, if we are stuck, aren’t we contracting with HEPA vacuum bag makers to run a load up...assuming we can get them in different sizes and buy masses of elastic?

Allowing the rubbish of “no human to human” transmission slide by for too long despite tip offs from Taiwan that medics were getting sick - a sure sign of human to human transmission.

That only 1-3% were asymptomatic - and not transmitting.

Disastrous for other country prep
They cannot get away with their sidelining of Taiwan any longer as they did in a press conference, simply to appease China that wants to subsume Taiwan into its “motherland” - not even allowing Taiwan inside the UN

This is a fascinating read that, underneath a system undoubtedly built with the best of intentions to prevent the human and systems failings reveal in SARS, reveals how human failings, complacency, obedience, political fear all, led to avoidable loss of life and not just in China
Too tired to do a thread tonight but if someone gives me a nudge in the morning I shall.

Some (in fact all) those same human failings on top of systems weaknesses reared their ugly heads all over the world.

Complacency . The desire to reassure. Political superficiality.
