I don't think the self-employed know they can now sign up for unemployment benefits where before they couldn't Please if you are out of work due to COVID-19 find out what benefits are available to you.

It's whatever the state pays plus $600/week. This is on top of the $1,200/person check that the Federal gov will be sending to each American.(except those behind on child support)
"So, under the new legislation, a typical worker could expect $985 a week for four months ($600 in extra relief plus state benefits), followed by up to 23 weeks of $385 a week in standard state benefits. Unemployment benefits are taxable."
update. It's been pointed out that the $1,200/check begins to be phased out at $75,000 and goes to zero at $99,000 for INDIVIDUAL income not household income.
In other words, the government is going to pay pretty much everyone out of work/unable to work $5,200 in the month of April to sit home. They are also going to pay businesses to keep you on the payroll with loan forgiveness and you keep you current income.
Those 3.28 million people out of work last week will be getting $5200 this month. this isn't like normal unemployment where you get about $1600/month.

update. The federal government is working to get guidance out. NC state expects to get the guidance by mid week not sure about other states. They will pay retroactively once guidance is release. Not sure what state this is from👇 check with your state
