Please please please, don’t be the person asking “what can I do to help?” We are in an all hands on deck moment, please say “this is what I’m doing, how can I make it better?” I’ve shared some examples here
@chimaonoka on behalf of @cmdanigeria also made some brilliant practical suggestions on how different people and organisations can contribute to the campaign against the COVID pandemic from a Nigerian perspective it also useful elsewhere. Tweeted here
African & Nigerian ad agencies & gurus, you’re expert at doing market research & sellling beer etc to all our people, how can you contribute these skills to understand what COVID prevention messages would work best & how best to sell them to our people? All hands on deck please
This is brilliant. @kenyanpundit & other African professionals thinking through some of the challenges that the COVID19 pandemic poses to the continent AND proposing solutions. An example of what I’ve been preaching on this thread

notion.so/Africa-COVID-1…
I’d add more specifically, providing & facilitating opportunities for African health workers, communities, researchers & innovators to think through not just specific solutions to aspects of pandemic but broader whole strategy that takes our different contexts into account....
Also add, given our experiences with @EpiAFRIC’s Health Meets Tech programme, facilitating MULTISECTORAL collaboration on innovative approaches to tackling the pandemic on the continent as @nke_ise called for here
Would also add as specific area for business continuity, private healthcare institutions, some of which I’ve been made aware (in Nigeria) are perilously close to collapse due to COVID-related issues. Whatever your perspective on private healthcare on continent, hope you agree....
...This is no time to lose healthcare capacity (including ITU beds) in the continent. We should be looking at how to harness that capacity in response to COVID pandemic.
I’ve asked some for bare bones of business cases & if you have suggestions for supporting them, please DM me
If you are as talented as @nke_ise ‘s classmate & friend @Ukpong you could implement the design of a ventilator
@afemafrica Another example of stepping forward to #TakeResponsibility in relation to #COVID19 pandemic especially in Africa. Guidance for emergency room /casualty doctors & nurses, in low resource settings from various sources & set in context afem.africa/resources/
