If you are a woman who is not making others uncomfortable, if you are not pushing or disregarding boundaries, if you are waiting for permission, you are perpetuating status quo. Instead, be the change that is needed. Speak up. Be messy. @techreview

"Battling workplace bias requires deliberate strategies, including learning to say no, getting comfortable talking about uncomfortable topics, and helping others behind you." @techreview @MITSloan #womeninSTEM #womeninleadership #WomeninBusiness #womenintech #womenentrepreneurs
This week I heard that some do not ask for "consent" prior to tweeting

Having worked in insurance, am curious, where do I submit this prior authorization form in order to tweet?

Who is the decision maker? What is standard used for permission granted? diversitywoman.com/speak-up-and-d…
I am proud to have been noted for a "Top 15 Female Voices in the World" by @LinkedIn a platform of male exec - one of my posts on #LinkedIn was addressing the issue of gender bias of women being caretakers. Yes, we are. So are men. Let's pay for that care

I am SO grateful for my time in #NYC among #NewYorkTough, particularly learning from #blackexcellence especially black nurses and community leaders.

I loved Boston and but something about it had become stifling and I was stagnating. One must #change and #evolve continuously.
Be messy. Say what needs to be said. Dare. Interrupt. You may get told to "get lost" or "leave immediately." No, it is not at ALL fair. This is where one has to somehow either deliver value despite that OR leave for greener pastures -either okay.

Yes, I said interrupt. I do it and still get asked back into the room and to the table.

I also often just sit at the table. I may be the only woman in the room.

To me, signals I need to speak up to compensate for all the women not there and be heard.

Build your community of shared mission and values.

You can and should choose where to apply your time, energy, voice.

You don't always have to be louder and bolder.

Dance. Sing. Cry. Smile. Be real.

Also, let yourself heal. @GirlsWhoCode @lizzo
