This laughable explanation from the Princess Diana movie producer doesn't pass the smell test.
By "rumour", is he referring to the call by his casting director which explicitly said no UK-only passport holders "due to new #Brexit rules"? digitalspy.com/movies/a348054…
Webster says "it's not a hindrance to have a British passport" then goes on to say "some of our cast will be European to meet certain funding requirements"
If a certain % of actors must be EU citizens, some small parts (like William) can't be British. I'd call that a hindrance.
"This is an official co-production with Europe so we don't anticipate any issue with our British cast working in Germany". Why would a co-production mean UK actors don't need visas to work in EU?
Sounds like Webster doesn't know what #Brexit means but his casting director does.
I'm also not impressed with @digitalspy unquestioningly accepting this from the producer and claiming it's now "cleared up".
How about asking why his own casting director said otherwise? Or why he thinks a co-production skirts visa rules? Or how many actors need to be European?

Some very weird theories going around in the Hungarian far right tonight that the Orban MEP caught in the gay orgy Friday was set up by the German secret service in order to thwart "the Hungarian-Polish war of independence in Brussels" over #RuleOfLaw. mandiner.hu/cikk/20201201_…
That conspiracy theory may sound laughable, but in #Hungary the Orban-controlled media is only telling people #Szajer was caught at a "hazi buli" (house party) and is in trouble for breaking lockdown.
Since we won't be able to get haircuts until 15 January in Belgium, desperate times call for desperate measures.
Some guys are giving haircuts in a Brussels park. I think we're going to see a lot of half-finished haircuts when they suddenly have to abort after a police sighting!
The other option is to hop across the border and go to the Netherlands for a Dutch haircut.
For many Belgians this is a quick drive or train ride.
But, this is exactly the situation EU authorities want to avoid (people crossing borders for commerce).
Contrary to what Michael Gove and the Leave campaign told the British public in 2016, there are in fact no “international laws” guaranteeing you the right to buy and live in a home in any country you like.
I would be very curious to know how this woman ended up voting, and what her plans are for her 2nd home in France.
It’s a shame Burley didn’t catch that Gove was answering a different question than the one the woman asked. He’s talking about expat residents, not second homes.
EU Council President Michel has invited US President-Elect @JoeBiden for a virtual summit with EU leaders soon after he takes office, to be followed by an in-person summit with EU and NATO in Brussels in the 1st half of 2021.
Tomorrow EU diplomats will discuss a paper on EU-US relations gong forward, distributed by President Michel on Friday.
This is in preparation for a discussion on the topic by EU prime ministers and presidents on 10 December.
EU diplomats had their discussion about resetting EU-US relations this morning.
Indeed. The fisheries issue is a red herring, if you'll pardon the pun.
If there is #NoDealBrexit it will not be because of a dispute over fish, as the UK media is suggesting, but because of UK's refusal to follow some LPF rules in exchange for tariff-free access to EU market.
There is a reason the UK briefs as if fisheries is the main stumbling bloc. It's a very small (though very emotional) part of the economy and the EU's stance is not very sympathetic. But it's a side issue.
LPF and governance goes to the heart of what #Brexit will and won't be.
The UK side doesn't want to talk about LPF because it highlights the lack of thinking that went into the #Brexit plan before the referendum.
#Norway & #Switzerland were used as examples, but then after the vote their models were immediately ruled out because they're rule-takers.
But I found the similarities (and concurrence) between the rise of Berlusconi's #MediaSet & #FoxNews more unnerving.
Both became so powerful they set the tone & agenda for the main broadcasters.
Berlusconi's #MediaSet managed to transform the content of Italian public broadcaster RAI just as #FoxNews managed to transform the news content of the main US networks. Both were coarsened.
The 'sexy shopping' segment aired on RAI 2, not Mediaset.
