Today in my local #Medicentre a pharmacist & 2 dispensary workers were chatting & joking w/out a #mask in sight! Then I saw several patients wearing those UTTERLY USELESS nylon #masks which slip/slide & they touch constantly. A 🧵...

And a Pt wearing a surgical mask that appeared to have been worn > 50 times it was so filthy!
We’ve had a whole term where kids haven’t worn #MasksInClassrooms & the anti #mask #keepschoolsopen AT ALL COSTS gang who don’t care 1 jot how many #teachers/families get ill w/ #Covid.

Just remember the vote on #FreeSchoolMeals in Oct!
Virtually EVERY @Conservative MP voted AGAINST this simple & low cost way to feed our most vulnerable children DURING A PANDEMIC!
Now they tell us it’s all about child welfare... I have my doubts!

TODAY it has taken a entirely reasonable, sensible & safe move from school/teaching unions to avert the catastrophe that’d happen if primary pupils trotted into school “as normal” on 4th Jan! God help is when students return to Uni!!

Yesterday a jnr dr left a #London hospital to meet a “#Covid is a hoax” protest! WHAT IS WRONG WITH THESE PPL?
Why are there so many selfish,uncaring Brits? Why doesn’t our #PM call them out?

#COVID19 is VERY real & the situation is VERY serious!
We need some proper, pragmatic, safe & sensible public health messaging URGENTLY on TV, on social media, posters, anywhere & everywhere NOW!

The #CovidVaccine needs to be rolled out efficiently without any further delays or communication issues.
SURELY we can manage to get this right @nadhimzahawi ?
I will personally VOLUNTEER to work ANY FREE DAYS to vaccinate ppl. #NHS frontline staff & teachers are the priority!

The feeling of helplessness AND hopelessness is palpable amongst the staff I work with, that this nightmare will just continue until there are 1000s more avoidable deaths & cases of #LongCovid.
That countless others won’t get vital non-#Covid care & some may die as a result.

We have been abandoned by our government to the very worst that #COVID19 can do. Even if they listened & acted appropriately TODAY, there are 1000s more deaths “baked in”.
It is shameful & it is utterly tragic...
but most of all IT WAS AVOIDABLE & PREVENTABLE!
