New acid containers have recently been found at the Port of Beirut, as work continues to eliminate toxic chemicals from the port's warehouses.
The total number of containers to be disposed of is now 52, following the recent discovery of 3 new containers of dangerous substances, Beirut Port Chief Bassem Al-Kaissi said on Sunday.
oh and btw there is a contract between Lebanon and a German company several month ago. It should have guranted the removing of dangerouse material at the port of Beirut.

A good two months after the end of the fighting in the conflict region Nagorno-Karabakh in the South Caucasus, the search for killed soldiers and civilians continues.
The Nagorno-Karabakh authorities alone have so far recovered 1,184 bodies. According to their own statements, specialists from Azerbaijan have so far recovered the bodies of 334 killed Azerbaijani soldiers and 988 Armenian armed forces.
In total, more than 2,000 bodies have been discovered. The work has not yet been completed, said the head of the responsible state commission, according to Azerbaijani media. Forensic doctors in Armenia said they had examined about 3,360 killed soldiers.

At the last minute, China blocked the entry of experts who are supposed to investigate the origins of the coronavirus on behalf of the World Health Organization (WHO).
"I am very disappointed with this news," said WHO chief Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus in an unusually sharp criticism of China. Two experts had already started the trip on Tuesday, and two others had to stop their departure at the last minute, said Tedros.
Contrary to the agreements, Beijing had announced at short notice that the necessary entry documents were not yet available. Tedros had reminded the Chinese authorities of the urgency of the mission, Ryan said.

Rescue workers in the US district of Los Angeles are now instructed not to bring certain patients with a low chance of survival to hospitals because of the overload caused by the corona wave.
If resuscitation on site is unsuccessful in the event of a cardiac arrest, the patients should "not be transported", according to an order from the emergency services.
Many hospitals in the populous district "have reached a crisis point and are already making very tough decisions about patient care," said health department chief Christina Ghaly, the L.A. Times.

According to Obozrevatel, the Ukrainian online news source, referring to a quote by Ukrainian Foreign Minister Dmytro Kuleba. According to the minister, the documents were received on 31 December, and Ukraine now has two months to comment on the paper.
