Among data published regularly by #Kyiv is children affected by #PutinsWar.
The number of kids known to have been killed or injured by Russia will reach 1,000 within a week, while many more deaths remain hidden in occupied cities like #Mairupol'
Currently 347 dead, 646 injured
Still on data and a silly mistake in the propaganda war by #Russia.
The good guys at @StopFakingNews have proven that The Kremlin claims to have shot down more #Ukraine planes and helicopters than they even have!
A massive number of Russian tanks destroyed in the last 24 hours according to the latest #Ukraine estimates.
35 in a day is the highest for some time and likely reflects the new movement of troops along with precision long range MLRS and howitzers being against the invaders
Another successful operation for the long range equipment now in #Ukraine's arsenal.
Here it looks like another fuel depot was hit in occupied territory. This overnight in #Shakhtarsk in #Donetsk region.
Explosions began around 02:30, residents were evacuated #StandWithUkraine
The morning #Ukraine Defence Ministry update reports 12 civilians died and 30 were injured by #Russia across the country yesterday.
Four of the deaths came in this attack on houses in #Kharkiv, which I wrote about yesterday evening.
The good news keeps on coming on this sunny Friday!
#Russia's Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov is reportedly about to leave the G20 summit early in #Indonesia, due to a boycott.
Germany's 'Der Spiegel' says Lavros will hold some meetings before returning to #Moscow.
#Russia asked "how much do you want?" when recruiting a traitor in #Ukraine.
They've made details public. The man from #Zaporizhzhia gave the FSB details of 🇺🇦 army positions and also reported on accuracy of Russian strikes on infrastructure.
Amid growing fears of world hunger because of #Russia's war, another example of the attempt to inflict a new #Holodomor on #Ukraine
I posted y'day evening about deliberate burning of crops by Russians, now more wheat burns, this is in occupied #Kherson region during "exercises"
#Kherson patriots have been active again.
Notices started appearing to more collaborators and invaders "controlling" the city.
"Russians will be buried!"
Putin's #Russia in 2022
This 60yo local councillor, Aleksey Gorinov, has just been sentenced to 7 years in a penal colony for "fake news" about the army.
His crime was to “declare a minute's silence in memory of victims of Russian aggression in Ukraine”
"Bomb the Bridge!"
A former #NATO commander says #Ukraine has the capability to take out the Kerch bridge linking stolen #Crimea to #Russia, and it is a legitimate target.
Continued technology problems. The country is now so short of chips, they're scratching around for old bank cards, unused and lost ones in a bid to be able to continue issuing new cards.
Some things never change.
Reminds me of #MH17 (anniversary next week)
"Woo-hoo. We hit a plane"
"Oh no we didn't"
"Ukraine did it"
FM🤥Zakharova said "We won't wait indefinitely. Once again we warn that if the situation does not stabilise in the coming days, then Russia will take tough measures against Lithuania and the EU"
Interesting tweet here saying that in occupied #Horlivka (#Donetsk Oblast), #Ukraine's artillery has done well, hitting "interesting places" as well as the the Elastomer factory.
After the artillery barrage, the pretend governments of "DPR" and "LPR" are really edgy.
Journalists report there's a witch hunt, searching for informants, and even advertising in local newspapers for snitches to give info on #Ukraine patriots
British journalist @joannalillis was detained while reporting on the protests in #Uzbekistan. She was also ordered to delete videos with witnesses, but police later apologised, let her go and returned her phone #Karakalpakstan#Nukus
@joannalillis 1/
Here's a long thread trying to determine whether the red on the streets of #Nukus in #Karakalpakstan was blood, or dye sprayed by water cannons.
In short they make no real conclusion, it may have been red dye.
I counter with it may have been blood.
@joannalillis 2/
I'm not saying Brecht is wrong and there's some great analysis. But I find it strange there is not one single photo or frame of video which shows any vehicle spraying red dye during the violence in #Karakalpakstan
Two more points: 1) There's an injured person on the ground -
Here we go then. For the 134th time, I welcome you to the daily thread covering all the news and developments from #Russia's war of choice and invasion of its peaceful neighbour #Ukraine.
However, #Ukraine's Defence staff says they beat off a Russian offensive yesterday.
"the enemy shelled civilian infrastructure in #Siversk + #Hryhorivka. (we) inflicted significant losses on the enemy during his attempted offensive. The occupiers left." facebook.com/GeneralStaff.ua
1/ Another small thread on #Uzbekistan, which has disappeared from headlines around the world as quickly as it briefly appeared.
It would seem the Government's tactics are working in stifling opposition and the truth from getting out of #Karakalpakstan.
2/
You will remember dozens reported dead when a peaceful protest in #Nukus, the capital of autonomous #Karakalpakstan was violently broken up by #Uzbekistan riot police. They claim people rioted, 15 was the official death toll but most opposition activists claim much higher
3/
There's scepticism about a swift U-turn from #Uzbekistan's authoritarian President, scrapping plans to take away #Karakalpakstan's autonomy & hopes to become independent.
Internet access was cut; some new videos are just emerging. This from Saturday shows peaceful protesters
Tuesday's thread on #Russia's war of choice starts here.
It's Day 132 of the illegal conflict.
A late start to the thread today, primarily because it's been one of the quietest days so far since the bombs started falling
Read on for all the news of #Ukraine's fight for survival
1/ I've spent the last 30 minutes going through replies, DMs and questions etc. The most common comment is along the lines of "Is the game up for #Ukraine?"
Certainly things are not going well for Ukraine right now for reasons I'll come to shortly
The main thing to remember is:
2/ Any sort of "peace deal" even a ceasefire, plays right into the Kremlin's hands.
Following the 2014 invasion, the #Minsk accords were foisted on #Ukraine by two western partners🇫🇷+🇩🇪. #Russia refused to allow 🇬🇧+🇺🇸 to the table.
