Once again we've seen far fewer attacks than "normal" from #Russia in the last 12 hours. In fact it's newsworthy that there was not a single rocket fired on #Kharkiv overnight.
The monument to #Russia's Catherine the Great in #Odesa has been daubed with paint.
I'm guessing this is in retaliation to #Odessa Mayor Trukhanov's statement in favour of keeping the statue when many, including the President and military want it removed.
Nikopol was attacked twice. 20 buildings, several gas pipelines and power lines were damaged.
Interesting that #Russia's war bloggers and the Wagner group are still insistent they remain in control of (the east) part of #Kupiansk, over the river Oskil.
Traitor Yevhen Balitskyi, #Russia's imposed "Head" of the occupied part of #Zaporizhzhia, says they've handed out "more than 15,000 Russian passports" in the region.
Amusingly, reports yesterday that border guards in Crimea refused to accept the "pseudo passports" from #Ukraine
#Russia says it's arrested a resident who was spying for #Ukraine.
Releasing this video, the FSB says he collected and transmitted data on military facilities in the Vladivostok region. Interesting that Russia admits Ukraine has people over 5,000 miles (8k km) from Moscow!
The Kremlin has just issued a statement that Putin won't be attending The Queen's funeral on Monday.
LOL
Could've sais he won't attend Man City v Dortmund tonight or be shopping in M&S either!
Persona non grata: the small man was not invited to UK neither was anyone from Belarus.
The 20yo gymnast who disgraced himself by wearing a "Z" during competition at the start of the war, has benefited from a partial climbdown by the (Russian leaning) governing body.
He's still banned for a year, but so is #Russia - no extra suspension.
In the last week or two, it's become clear from friends fighting that #Ukraine's soldiers fear they won't have enough winter gear - temperatures already dipping.
I've been trying to organise purchase and transport of equipment using trustworthy contacts.
Fundraiser coming soon.
I'll be in #Poland this weekend - we have great volunteers able to deliver direct to units where we know men & women fighting on the frontline.
There's a shortage of supplies in #Ukraine and costs are so high. We plan to buy in w. Europe and transport
#Ukraine's President said "Earlier, when we looked up, we always looked for the blue sky. Today, when we look up, we are looking for only one thing - the flag of Ukraine."
It's alleged (I have no proof but seems highly possible) that troops returning after the retreat from #Kharkiv were told they'd be sent straight to the front in #Donetsk
Mothers, wives & girlfriends intervened to stop the redeployment #SlavaZhinkam
As the #EU reveals its energy price policy, Vice President Frans Timmermans says "the situation is unprecedented, so our measures must be unprecedented."
This is #Kharkiv region and is just 10km from the Russian border on the east. The territory is already secure to the northern part of the border with #Russia.
Kryvyi Rih / Krivoy Rog, #Dnipropetrovsk region
A bridge has already been swept away as water levels surge through the city.
An hour ago Russian missiles smashed into critical infrastructure in the city. It's believed the Inhulets Dam has been deliberately destroyed. #KryvyiRih
Not surprisingly there are now reports of chaos in shops as people try to stock up on water, predicting supplies will be hit for a long time. Officials in #KryvyiRih deny there will be long term problems.
There are already reports that most of the water supply in #KryvyiRih has been restored by engineers.
This was stated by Governor Aleksandr Vilkul but not confirmed by residents yet.
At the same time as the 8 missiles were fired at #KryvyiRih, the Russians also tried to hit #Zaporizhzhia.
Two missiles were intercepted by the city's air defence. No known damage.
Another small bridge slowly swept away in #KryvyiRih, a large city in central-southern #Ukraine.
The tide of water caused by the bombing of the Inhulets Dam upstream.
No casualties reported despite the 8 missiles fired.
"This is a very interesting indicator, because according to the laws of war, you lose much more in the offensive than in defence."
Some residents of #KryvyiRih are holding their breath this evening and hoping the city will not be flooded.
The Mayor says the damage caused by #Russia's missiles has been repaired. Tap water is flowing again.
However water levels continue to rise after the hit on the dam.
Armenia relies on Russia's support. Here's what the people think in the capital #Yerevan of signing a peace deal: mass calls for the Prime Minister to resign.
More now from #Kherson where a missile has killed four people this evening.
#Russia's Occupiers released video uncharacteristically quickly, which I posted earlier. Immediately they said it was a #HIMARS hit.
But Telegram channel hueviyherson has a compelling argument:
Another recruitment drive for the Wagner mercenaries.
Putin's chef Prigozhin has a captive audience... literally.
More murderers, rapists and robbers from the prisons - everyone welcome. Lots of vacancies for some reason😅😜
Unconfirmed reports from #Russia's sources tonight that #Ukraine has "landed 5 boats full of troops" at Kinburn Spit.
That's the tiny slither of land marked on the map below. It's a risky manoeuvre if true and really does emphasise that Ukraine has fire control over the region.
This mystery was solved.
Apparently it was a Russian Kh-47M2 Kinzhal "hypersonic" missile, or at least the booster.
Seems something went wrong. These missiles were only introduced 5 years ago.
Every Single Day.
Ukraine's brave men and women on (or supporting) the frontline cannot switch off, so neither shall I in documenting the major events of Russia's horrific war.
As we begin a new week, it's the 1,321st Daily Thread - never missed one yet. So let's dive-in..
Well it's been lively overnight in Russia, with many reports of Ukraine's drones causing problems.
You can see photos and video from those reports at the end of yesterday's thread, which began with more daytime strikes by Moscow's war criminals...
Tuesday 30 September 2025 - it's Day 1315 of Russia's full invasion. That's 3 years, 7 months and one week of Ukraine trying to defend itself against an infinitely bigger army.
But Ukrainians have a just cause and the sum is much bigger than the parts.
Here's the daily thread:
A shorter thread yesterday, with not a lot of ground-breaking news. But still more than 30 posts, you may like to catch up on, such as Russia's moaning about its election interference in Moldova coming to nothing!
Hello again everybody. Are we ready for Day 1311 of Ukraine's defence against the all-out invasion by a Kremlin horde? I know I am, so let's go.
Documenting all the important news, and Russian war crimes, every single day - still never missed one - this is THE daily thread:
You can almost smell the weekend approaching, but first let's look back at Thursday.
Another wide variety of stories, and what a contrast. Almost record numbers of likes on BSky yet way below par number of views here on X.
Review what you missed here:
Good morning on Day 1310 of the full-scale war in Ukraine. But let's not forget Russia first invaded 11.5 years ago and the free world was too timid to defend a democracy from a tyrant, which led us to this position now after far too many wasted lives (and $)
Here's my daily🧵
Wednesday was another busy-busy day.
Too much to detail, just make sure you are up to date, but clicking and scrolling here, but remember to come back.
Russia has managed to attack railway infrastructure and some power targets overnight.
The latest is in Kirovohrad region, where 3 villages are without power after drone strikes. The city of Oleksandriya in the east of the region was heavily attacked.
There were no casualties.
It's taken an incredible effort to maintain Ukraine's independence this long, but we still need to keep pressure up and keep aid flowing.
It's a marathon effort to research & post the news, please support🙏 ko-fi.com/twmcltd
Friday's thread had the first half of Russia's attack - before that we saw Ukraine's partners tightening sanctions, and Putin sending planes in to NATO territory to lead to another Article 4 discussion.
Loads more news too, catch up here if you missed it
Only a 65% success rate for Ukraine's air defence last night.
75 drones were launched by Russia, initially at eastern areas, then attacking Kyiv later in the night.
One UAV is still flying, of the others, Ukraine brought down 48.
