@D_M_Clark_ In the 1960’s there were many dark and gruesome experiments as it were as you would know. But #psychology #psychiatry had significant standing. The standards across #publichealth have dropped. It’s important to note to the advisory body for Victoria (OCP) (Coventry)has no power.

@D_M_Clark_ 2/to act in favour or dissent over practices or possible new practices - even basic Jungian thought — or Freud frankly. @Headspace one of the few that are not coveting money and meds over patient health.
But back to OCP. Why have an Office Of Chief Psychiatrist without teeth?3/

So advice via an OCP sounds fine?
Unfortunately like all areas of #Health someone has to supervise accountability and usefulness of treatments within those laws. @DanielAndrewsMP /4

How wrong is wrong? To death— wrong?
Torment wrong? Malpractice wrong? Or lack of skill to treat people with more than meds ‘wrong’.

@D_M_Clark_ @Headspace @DanielAndrewsMP 6/ fear and ignorance based response of course comes out of fear. So what is #psychology #Psychiatry afraid of? You like others are hilariously questioning egos — which we are not but from my experience there (in public services) is a huge hive ego./7

Well people are being harmed or lives diminished takes but a cursory media search. Well surely patient harm or lack of skill in practitioners can be weeded out. Blanket meds reduced?/9

In #PublicHealth(as in many unbranded organisations) this assumption is a flawed premise. Enhancement of professionalism seems to be reliant on the level of complaints rather than accountability to standards—or #ethics.So better ideas/10

Or know if a person is #Neurodivergent or understand #trauma or don’t judge #cultural difference— the list goes on. In Victorian general public health MH not only are these things ignored but targeted as ‘problems’. 11/

Who is making anyone accountable to patients?
Who is overseeing the industry?
I know general Health Commissions ignore malpractice.
We know there are huge amounts of #money thrown at #MentalHealth.
But who is #governing—BEST practice. #auspol
