Let's start.
I would like to answer some common misconceptions, and make some clarifications from my personal point of view.
First of all, let's talk about social impressions and reach.
Personal social impressions is one topic I purposefully try to avoid since the day I realized @archillect is growing.
@archillect Because I just feel like it's not that important to anyone in the context of @archillect.
@archillect Don't get me wrong, I'm not going to pretend like it's not important to me. It is, of course, as I'm a social entity as well.
@archillect But if you know about how @archillect happened,"for personal impressions" would be a bad accusation.
@archillect As a designer I experiment with different things, try to design my way of survival in this wild scene.
@archillect It's very similar to the time when I became one of the notable persona of motion design industry. It was unplanned.
@archillect And now it's happening with @archillect. You should now that this growing popularity was also unplanned.
@archillect In other words, in both (or more) cases, without being intentional about what I did, it was good timing.
@archillect And in all these cases, I was not expecting this vitality as well. We're on the same page with you.
@archillect But undeserved? Definitely not. Only surprising. My projects, including @archillect, make me and a vast majority, happy.
@archillect I didn't expect to be "big" at having a "bot reach", I didn't even know that it was possible.
@archillect So it's not a career decision that made me give up other things to pursue. It's not something that I depend or plan my life on.
@archillect It's a side project that became notable at what it does. And I'm glad this happened.
@archillect So now, when people accuse me with having a lot of personal reach, I just don't get this as an accusation.
@archillect And this makes me feel like I should be taking a more direct approach in terms of responding to this.
@archillect Archillect has around 40 million organic impressions in an average day. And that translates to something.
@archillect However, there are no ads in the tweets, or on the website. The project is not being monetized in any way at the moment.
@archillect If I wanted to pursue money with @archillect, I could use many opportunities you probably don't see from that point of view.
@archillect Such as notable brands, fashion, design, car companies contacting me on almost daily basis for campaign offers.
@archillect So a lot of people are angry because they feel this undeserved* attention is getting money to me.
@archillect The thought of me sitting on my ass all day and making money off it, is, quite ridiculous.
@archillect But but also it's a completely blind and ignorant way to look at the big picture.
@archillect I, too, struggle very hard to create things*. Things* like @archillect. Things* that push boundaries.
@archillect If you choose to support my creations over any platform, that's nice. If you don't, that's still okay.
@archillect I know some are you are familiar with my work and identity, bu also, some aren't.
@archillect Just to recap: I was a mainstage speaker of almost all major design events in the last ~10 years time.
@archillect Giving speeches about creating things* in a procedural, parametric or automated way.
@archillect I teach design and art in multiple universities. Give workshops regularly. I've been in books, syllabus, magazines, lectures, juries, etc.
@archillect So assuming that all my reach is coming from a stupid bot that I create, is a ridiculous idea.
@archillect It's ignorant, blind and quite selfish. In a way, it's almost insulting.
@archillect And assuming that I monetize @archillect in all possible ways, is another ridiculous idea.
@archillect I am not saying it's not doable. I'm sure it is. I'm just stating the fact that since the beginning it has never been my primary focus.
@archillect If I wanted to monetize the project, I could, easily, with the current size of the project.
@archillect I choose not to.
@archillect I created* an AI that reaches to millions, and now some are bothered about it.
@archillect I also take and agree every point about how @archillect should have proper attribution.
@archillect But claiming that I strip, or remove attribution from the whole project, is another ridiculous theory.
@archillect It is another ignorant point of view, also against existing facts such as @archillinks.
@archillect @archillinks We're on the internet. If people have legal problems with me, I'm sure they will take action.
@archillect @archillinks As the creator of my tool, I of course take the risk of that, if that's your concern.
@archillect @archillinks Also when I see assumptions about "how sad shared creators on archillect are", I also don't see it overlap with what I experience and see.
@archillect @archillinks As far as my experience goes with the project they, too, seem to be happy.
@archillect @archillinks There will be exceptions, of course. Just like in everything. And ı will try to solve it with, again, good intentions.
@archillect @archillinks I do support creators on every level I can touch. This is internet, so we should be nice to each other.
@archillect @archillinks If you see no value in automated curation or the way @archillect works, that's still fine. It's your individual point of view.
@archillect @archillinks This also does not mean you should publicly insult or make up stories, because you don't like the idea here.
@archillect @archillinks UBER is a service with no cabs, Google is a service with no (initial) content, pinterest is a service... etc
@archillect @archillinks You get the point.
@archillect @archillinks I define archillect as a service. If it has to go through issues, I'll try to solve. If not, perfect.
@archillect @archillinks Besides this article about "what archillect (technically) is" I would love you to read this current chain of tweets. blog.archillect.com/recap-e6fe042b…
@archillect @archillinks And I would like to leave you in this tweet loop until everything is clear
