ALL articles that @EJPRjournal has published on #populism in past 10 years are now temporarily Open Access. #thread onlinelibrary.wiley.com/journal/10.111… 
1. To my surprise and shock, ALL 19 (!) of the 9 articles are male. Every single one of them.
2. This is not by design! The virtual special issue is a collection of ALL articles, not a selection of SOME!
3. It does, somewhat, reflect the field of populism studies, which is very male-dominated, despite two foundational female scholars.
4. Margaret Canovan and Nadia Urbinati are/were foundational scholars for theoretical approaches to populism.
5. Empirical research on populism is much more male, particularly quantitative work, although it is changing a bit.
6. Let's hope recent explosion of populist studies will make field more diverse in terms of color and gender.
7. And hopefully @EJPRjournal will publish much of their work so that future virtual special issues will be more diverse. #TheEnd
