Studies have found that the first big positive effect of getting insurance is mental health: people's sense of security. GOP attacking that.
This phase of repeal fight isn't over till Sep 30. Sabotage continues. Medicaid could get slashed in budget/tax fight. Repeal poss in FY2018
It's just a fact of life in the Trump era that until we regain a house of Congress, health care is under legal threat—
and until we get the White House back and Tom Price, arguably the most cold-blooded and malicious member of a scary cabinet, is out of HHS,
we should assume that the top leadership of our federal government is actively trying to destroy our health care system from within.

Mary Poppins Returns also illustrates how, when the chips are down, even the children of privilege will be destroyed by elites the next rung up if they don’t cast their lot with working people who refuse to accept the rules as they are and united to achieve the impossible.

Just finished watching Vice. You should see it. You'll laugh more than you expected. You'll end it reeling and furious.
There's a very strong case to be made that Trump isn't even the worst president of the 21st century. That dishonor belongs to Dick Cheney.
The story of Cheney—and particularly of the Iraq war—is so stunningly ugly that it partisans to tell it accurately. Hard to imagine it'll be told—that it's being told—properly in high school history classes. Kids, go see Vice.

Folks in DC (for starters). If Trump goes full autocrat tomorrow and declares an emergency to make the military perform civilian functions in defiance of the Congress and the constitution, be ready to protest.
A protest to end the shutdown is already planned for tomorrow at noon at the AFL-CIO, right by the White House. Furloughed? Lunch break? Go. Everyone else, spread the word.

When talking about the #GOP of the 1860s(especially party founders/leaders), we‘re talking about a party that’s virtually all white men, with abolition as a foundational tenet—caring about/acting on the best interests of millions of ppl they didn’t know, personally or culturally.
Note: Important to remember a lot of what these men thought on race goes under the category of white supremacist beliefs.

But as a party they held the platform of human rights, even for people in this country that weren’t “their people.”

That’s absent in #GOP rhetoric today.

When I pointed out @Charities_Reg overstepped their powers to order #Repeal Maser mural removal and noted they weren’t pursuing the 20+ anti-choice fake charities I reported to them, they blocked me and refused to say why. The Info Commissioners just told them they can’t do that.
This OIC decision means that, if you’re a public body and you block someone on twitter, you have to tell the person why you did that if they ask. Your reasons might be gibberish but you still have to give it. The person can then challenge the gibberish reasons with the Ombudsman.
The CEO of @Charities_Reg has recently quit for a new big job in the Mental Health Commission so I’ll be keeping close eye on which MH hospitals get sanctioned for breaches and which don’t, but in the meantime CRA still has to account for biased behaviour during #Repeal.

This is the best thing on Twitter this morning. I see too many security products trying to *replace* human-to-human interaction - there’s a good chunk of security and privacy that’s about *people*.

Let’s make more products which help people STOP, collaborate, and listen 😝
Forgetting about the “people” part of security is why we’ve heard “GRC is dead” for the last 10 years. We’re on “GRC 4.0” now and it *still* sucks.

GRC tools like Archer are designed for Process and Technology but forget about the poor People who have to use that dumpster fire.
We still have new vendors trying to design single-pane-of-glass “CISO dashboards”, meanwhile *very* few security companies are truly focused on people (not just security people) inside of organizations.

@duosec is one of the few companies who has focused on people. @habitu8 too
