Yesterday I visited Capitol Hill in Washington to talk to members of Congress about girls' education. [THREAD]
First stop: I asked @PatrickLeahy to work w colleagues to keep $800mn in the budget for ed. He said girls' education is a bipartisan issue. 
Senator @marcorubio left D.C. to help Puerto Rico - but I stopped by to ask his staff to thank him for his support for school for all girls.
Senator @JeanneShaheen and I agree that we must focus more on adolescent girls. They are the key to a safer, healthier, wealthier world.
In the House, @RepHalRogers & @NitaLowey said they would be as helpful as they can be. I told them millions of girls are counting on them!
