I have gotten a lot of questions about martial law recently so here goes.

First what does the constitution say on the subject?

While it does not use the term martial law it does say in Article 1 Section 8 & 9

Congress has the power "To provide for calling forth the Militia to execute the Laws of the Union, suppress Insurrections and repel Invasions;
"The privilege of the Writ of Habeas Corpus shall not be suspended, unless when in Cases of Rebellion or Invasion the public Safety may require it."

#Thread I was triggered to write this by a status I saw over the weekend which was figuratively calling people who aren't entrepreneurs fools.
You must have seen similar ones like it. The one where they will claim you're building somebody else's dreams if you work 8-4 or 9-5.
The earlier you people who peddle entrepreneurship realised that not everyone is cut out for the business world, the better it would be for everybody.
You think I'm not living the life I dreamt of just because I answer to a boss? *Just let people do what they love, man.*
How difficult is that for you to understand?

If you're truly an entrepreneur in Nigeria and you sell real goods and services, you can't paint entrepreneurship ( in Nigeria) as exciting, attractive and something only foolish people will not venture into.

Some of you may have noticed that I'm sporting a new tag in my screen name. It's not just a fad though, allow me to explain in this lil ol' #thread:
1/ As you (should) know, january 3rd marks the actual birthday of #Bitcoin, as it was the day that Satoshi mined the first blocks and hence set the Bitcoin story into motion. Upcoming jan 3rd will be the 10th anniversary and this would be an obvious time for celebrations.
2/ @TraceMayer took the initiative of a call-to-arms for all HODLers-of-last-resort, to join him and quite a few other prominent bitcoiners like @giacomozucco, @theonevortex and @CaitlinLong_, just to name some, and also sport the same tag in their screen name.

Keep seeing this ‘No Arrest No Prosecution’ thing, by people who don’t really care for the truth. One of biggest myths of 2018. In every one of these States people have been arrested & are being prosecuted. One example: Zamfara, 117 arrests: google.com/amp/s/www.vang…

I think the starting point for commentary like this is to say that no death of any Nigerian at the hands of bandits & criminals is acceptable or justifiable. Even a single death is one too many. And one of the primary responsibilities of any Govt is security. That’s not in doubt.
So, this matter of ‘No Arrests No Prosecutions.’ It’s very far from true. The simplest of Google searches puts the lie to it.Also the Police regularly put out statements on large-scale arrests. I’ll share more links as part of this thread. This from Kaduna google.com/amp/s/punchng.…

After national outlets finally began picking up the story, local outlets started providing weak explanations. The @ajc (Atlanta's major paper) “both sided” the incident by comparing white supremacists to Democratic socialists. Because, you know, dog whistle. #TeamAbrams
