#Rohingya: The hearing in Supreme Court today witnessed interesting concluding moments. #Thread
The Bench headed by CJI Dipak Misra initially started to dictate an order staying deportation of #Rohingyas. @barandbench
However, ASG Tushar Mehta intervened and strongly argued against the same. @barandbench
The Bench then started to dictate an order allowing petitioners the liberty to approach court in case of contingency. @barandbench
However, Mehta objected to the same too making a case for Centre and how such an order is unnecessary. @barandbench
Court finally relented, simply noting the submission of Nariman that "in case of any contingency, he will approach this Court" @barandbench
I would definitely say Tushar Mehta was able to successfully persuade the Court. And now over to a long break as SC closed for Diwali today.

The first half of the hearing today was rather subdued but it really came to life in the second half when Sr. Adv. @IJaising commenced her submissions.
The Bench which up until then was quiet, suddenly came to life, thanks to Jaising’s submissions on the ban on women being hit by the abolition of untouchability under Article 17.

All are concurring opinions.

CJI+ Justice Khanwilkar- no one can escape from their individuality. CJI cites John Mills. One defines oneself.
CJI+ Khanwilkar, J.- prejudice notions, social exclusion are still faced by individuals.

LGBT community posses same human rights, constitutional rights like any other individual. 377 is irrational, manifestly arbitrary and indefensible.

It started heavily even in Thiruvananthapuram. Heard that Mudirapuzha arm of Periyar receiving heavy rainfall and Madupetty Dam shutters are opened. Mullaperiyar is at 136.60 ft at 12noon today. #KeralaFloods
The water from Madupetty Dam will flow through Munnar to Kallarkutty and Lower Periyar Dams and will join Bhoothankettu Barrage in Periyar River..
Mudirapuzha arm of Periyar is used to receive heavy rainfall. This sub basin along with Mullaperiyar catchment created great havocs in 1924 and 1961 floods.
