In light of this tweet, I wanted to share with you just some of the work my @cnni colleagues have done over the years. #Thread
.@cnni correspondent @NimaCNN and her team recently exposed humans being traded as slaves in Libya. The UN is investigating as a result. Here’s the link -- edition.cnn.com/2017/11/14/afr…
.@cnni correspondent @ArwaCNN has reported in war zones for years. She set up a charity to help children affected by those conflicts. It’s called INARA. You can donate here -- donate.inara.org
.@cnni correspondent @AFieldCNN reported from Rohingya refugee camps in Bangladesh, focusing on children displaced by what the UN has called ethnic cleansing. edition.cnn.com/2017/09/14/asi…
.@cnni correspondent @CNNIvan helped hoist Yazidi refugees fleeing from ISIS into an Iraqi army helicopter. His story, though, focused on the bravery of others. Soldiers had to open fire on ISIS positions as they flew to safety. Here’s the link --
.@cnni correspondent @leylasantiago has spent months reporting on Hurricane Maria. Her reporting is helping save people in Puerto Rico. She’s from PR, and is raising money to help. Her work is here -- edition.cnn.com/profiles/leyla… and you can donate here gofundme.com/DearCorozal
.@cnni anchor @IshaSesayCNN has reported for years on the nearly 300 girls kidnapped by Boko Haram in Nigeria. She met some of those who had been freed at this link -- edition.cnn.com/2016/12/26/afr… -- She still advocates for the girls that haven’t yet come home.
.@cnni correspondent @AndrewCNN and his team helped rescue an old woman and her disabled child by floating them on a mattress across flood waters to safety during Typhoon Haiyan in the Philippines. He then went back a year later.
This is just a sample of the work that these journalists have done and continue to do. We all have faults, no matter the profession. But if this is the work that the world sees @CNN do, I couldn't be prouder to be a part of it.
