8) The Democrats are a minority party with little ability to influence legislation the direction they want it to go because the executive branch is pushing so hard in the opposite direction. They cant get legislation out of the House or Senate much less a committee.
9) What compromises they can make are impossible because they and the media have whipped up their vocal minority into a state of existential delusion. They COULD get DACA and a path to citizenship in exchange for immigration reform, but it would destroy their party.

11) No one gets anything. You think Tricky Dicky Durbin would be pushing this Shithole nonsense if he thought there were an honest chance of compromise? You think anyone honestly thinks DACA in exchange for a temporary end to the racism claims is a deal Trump would ever accept?
12) They will ultimately sacrifice DACA and let the government get shut down just so Trump doesn't get his immigration reform. DACA is all they have left, and they are pushing it all in.
