Let's list all the things that could prove to be problematic for signing an Art.50 deal in October:

1/
Still lots from Phase 1 to resolve:

- role of ECJ
- citizens' rights on FoM
- the entire Irish border issue

2/
On transition:

- degree of release from EU regulation
- participation/observing of EU decision-making
- mechanism for extension

3/
On new relationship:

- just political statement, or actual substance?

4/
On the whole text:

- will EP demand more on ctiizens' rights?
- will Parliament demand something?

5/
Back in the UK:

- will Withdrawal Bill get through?
- will gvt survive?

6/
that'll do for now, but do free feel to add anything else that springs to mind.

In short, the EU doesn't like re-opening texts, so failures to approve result in efforts to give the non-approver enough political space to accept the same legal text

Also: writers, if you're signing a book deal, I know it's very exciting, but don't give up world rights and film rights unless you're being compensated adequately. I'm able to make a living as a full-time writer because my agents sells rights in multiple territories.
Sometimes those are relatively big deals (US, UK, Germany, Brasil for eg), sometimes it's $500 for a really small territory, but you know what? That's a free $500 I didn't have to do any extra work for (minus 20% agent commission and minus 40% tax).
If your publisher-to-be wants world rights, they should have a plan of how they're going to do that, and they must pay adequately to make up for potential lost individual sales. A good agent will know exactly how to navigate all this.

🧡 2. Volunteer to feed others! There are still lots of displaced Puerto Ricans, including families. Offer to buy and deliver a holiday meal for a family or two. Google "Puerto Rican refugees in [your state])" to find local organizations that can connect you with needs!
💛 3. Volunteer to feed others! AGAIN! But this time at a local food bank or soup kitchen! I have had the privilege of handing out food boxes to the homeless and I cannot tell you how much they renew my faith in humanity. It can be a great karma wash to all of the politics!

As we apparently get closer to a Brexit deal, and the volume against the likely deal rises once again, it is interesting to look through the Lancaster House speech that the PM will supposedly have betrayed, with 12 objectives... 1/ gov.uk/government/spe…
Objective 1 has already failed - to provide certainty. Though it is interesting to note right up front the line "There will have to be compromises" which doesn't often get quoted by those thinking the speech should be the basis for the Brexit deal... 2/
Objective 2 has been partially dropped already - as ultimately for any kind of deep future relationship some parts would come under ECJ. There are many further complexities to this, but ok the direction is away from ECJ oversight 3/
