1) Alright... so, let's take a mental step back. Breathe in, breathe out. Goosefraba. There we go. @sethabramson has made a claim that there is every reason for the upcoming OIG report is going to benefit D's rather than R's, because the FBI screwed Clinton.
2) Comey, I hypothesized in an earlier thread, is trolling be absolute dogshit out of everyone. His actions certainly did not HELP Clinton.
3) He even stated in a public televised announcement that had anyone else been in this situation they would have been prosecuted, but Hillary specifically would not be. That hurts more than it helps.
4) So, on face value, @SethAbramson has a point that the FBI hurt Clinton more than helped her, which helps Trump. But that's only on face value.
5) First point: look at who Horowitz is reported to be investigating and interviewing. I'll even use Vanity Fair as the source, because I'm a nice guy like that vanityfair.com/news/2018/02/w…
6) Lynch. Comey. Strzok. Page. McCabe. These should all be familiar names. None of these were aligned with Trump. They're all aligned with Clinton or unknown quantities (Comey).
7) According to the Washington Post, it was the OIG investigation that has caused McCabe to resign. washingtonpost.com/world/national…
8) Specifically, on whether McCabe dragged his feet on following up on the Clinton emails on Weiner's laptop for weeks, and was trying to push it to AFTER the election.
9) Now, presuming at this point based on the Strzok/Lisa Page text messages that they were in the same pro-Clinton clique as McCabe, that would imply that McCabe was trying to PROTECT Clinton. That's not a good look.
10) See, here's my logic: Comey had already stated in public on the record that Hillary's actions would have caused anyone else to be prosecuted.
11) Now, not only do these emails resurface, but they resurface on a third party's laptop. If having her own server storing classified material was a crime, then having that same material on someone else's laptop is ALSO a crime, probably much worse.
12) And this is IGNORING the cavalcade of investigative fuckups that already occured in the Clinton email investigation. Horowitz won't ignore those.
13) Horowitz, keep in mind, investigated Fast and Furious, Holder's crowning fuck up of all fuck ups.
14) Damn good reason Holder wasn't AG during the Clinton email investigation. Loretta Lynch was. And her cankley ass ended up in a plane on a tarmac with Bill 'Intern Bane' Clinton.
15) So let's go back to @sethabramson's original point, which at this moment is laying in a smoking crater like deep fried Yamcha.
16) "Democrats will be able to weaponize the OIG report better than Republicans!" Ok... HOW exactly? She got off the hook scot free by the FBI, most of the backlash against Hillary was thanks to actual journalism that was being done.
17) The FBI refused to prosecute, worded things specifically to avoid trigger words for prosecution in public statements, and did their best to bury everything. For the media, there was no good way to spin it for Hillary. It was that bad.
18) How is this bad for Republicans? The WORST thing Horowitz could report is "Oh, everything followed close enough to procedure, you all have been screaming about nothing for 2 years."
19) But that's impossible, because MCCABE WAS ALREADY FORCED TO RESIGN DUE TO THE OIG REPORT. Look at which side he was playing for. Now think about this:
20) If it was bad enough that McCabe, a Clinton clique member, was forced to resign before the OIG report was even made public, how much worse will it get? /end
