1.Glen Grey Act 1894
-Excluded property ownership altogether as a voting qualification for black who held Glen Grey title.
2.The Native Land Act of 1913
-Passed to allocate only 7% of arable land to Africans and more fertile land to for white(20% population).
3. The Transvaal of Asiatic Land Tenure of 1930
-Sought to entrench segregation among various residential areas.
4.The Riotous Assemblies Act 19 of 1936
- prohibited any outside gathering deemed as a threat by the Minister.
Banishment was punishment.
5.The Asiatic Immigrants Amendment Act of 1931
- established statutory segregation of Indians in the Transvaal.
6.The Native Service Contracts Act of 1932
-inter alia,legalized the whipping of African lads under 18 for offences to Baas and Baas laws
Authorised child labour for Africans.
-Workers could be evicted for non-performance,prevented to leave the farm without written permission
7.Bantu Trust and Land Act 1936
-the white government was kind enough to extend native land from 7% to 13 % but never quite accomplished it
They ran out of land and so forbade any ownership and/or purchase of land by the Bantu.
8.The Slums Act of 1934
-demolished 'dilapidated suburbs' owned by blacks.Displaced black residents were rehoused in municipal housings.
9. The Group Areas Act of 1950
-Separated areas by race,put black in townships.
- prohibited blacks from purchasing property in 'white areas
10. The Pegging Act of 1946
- another petty law that prohibited Indians from extending businesses and buying in white areas.
11.Black Community Dev. Act of 1984
-when the gov. kept changing laws to make black residents 'illegal' in order to 'legally remove them'
12. Prevention of Illegal Squatting Act 1951
-black owned buildings and businesses demolished and all structures removed for being built...
...without permission of white land owners.
13. Native Resettlement Act1954
-gave government power to remove African land owners and tenants with legal rights in urban areas.
-prevented Africans from living in or close to cities to relocating them to far flung areas in townships.
- the consequence was the forced relocation of 100 000 Africans from Sophiatown, Meadowlands and other areas.
14. Rural Dealers Licensing Acts of 1935
-Amongst other petty things,Africans were forbidden to walk on pavements/sidewalks in white towns.
