I grew up in Germany, and the excuses listed here for Farrakhan's (and the Nation of Islam's) bigotry are pretty much the same that you could hear there for the Nazis. Of course Farrakhan & the NOI don't have the power the Nazis had. +
But even if Farrakhan & his NOI don't have even remotely as much power as the Nazis, their Jew-hatred can be neatly summed up with the Nazi slogan "The Jews are our misfortune". +
And IMHO, it's wrong to exclusively focus on @TamikaDMallory and try to find reasons why she might be inclined to ignore Farrakhan's &the NOI's seething Jew-hatred. As I recently showed @jdforward, @lsarsour is as much a Farrakhan fan as Mallory is. forward.com/opinion/396003…
To make matters worse, @lsarsour actually echoed Farrakhan's vile antisemitic rhetoric when she spoke at his mega event in 2015 - and just a few months ago, she declared that she remains proud of what she said then. 
To quote Sarsour: "[the] same people who justify the massacres of Palestinian people and call it collateral damage are the same people who justify the murder of young black men and women." +
So 1) Sarsour insinuates that Israeli Jews &their supporters in the US "justify the massacres of Palestinian people" - ignoring Hamas and the well-documented Palestinian support for terrorism;
and 2) Sarsour claims that those Israeli Jews &their supporters in the US who believe Israel has a right to defend itself against Hamas &Co have anything to do with the killing of blacks in the US. Farrakhan himself couldn't have put it better.
