Regarding the recent news about the 500,000 names dropped from the criminal background, @realmajordan mentioned that this was in the news awhile ago, and linked the order itself from the FBI, dated February 15th.
"The Department determined that the Brady Act does not authorize the denial of firearm transfers under the "fugitive from justice" prohibitor based on the mere existence of an arrest warrant."
Department being DoJ. Note the date, February 15th.
archive.is/3FWtQ Here is the archived article from the Washington Post from November about this.
"Late last year, before President Trump took office, the Justice Department Office of Legal Counsel sided with ATF and narrowed the definition of fugitives, according to law enforcement officials." Smack dab in the middle of the article
That right there is the ONLY reference the @washingtonpost made that the decision came BEFORE the Trump administration took office.
"After Trump was inaugurated, the Justice Department further narrowed the definition to those who have fled across state lines to avoid prosecution for a crime or to avoid giving testimony in a criminal proceeding."
This has revealed to have been a lie. The memo was a decision made from before the Trump administration took office. "“That was a decision that was made under the previous administration,” Bowdich testified."
"Federal law enforcement officials say that about 430,000 names of wanted people removed from the database were from Massachusetts." Basically, Massachusetts was clogging the system with ALL outstanding warrants.
The Washington Post article came in the weeks after the Texas church shooter as the criminal background check system received new scrutiny, and @washingtonpost used the opportunity to try to throw shade at the Trump administration
Glossing over the fact that it was the OBAMA admin that weakened the system. And not just the Obama administration. Because February 15th, who was still leading the FBI at the time?!?
THIS GUY!!!!!!!!
So, this is partially recycled news, but it IS a new development that the decision making all happened under the Obama administration DoJ. The funniest part? Feinstein was the one who asked the question that resulted in the instant blowback.

Funny shit.
