Great to see that the guy who added so little to Monty Python has even less to add to the current conversation about sexual harassment.
To be clear I am taking about Terry Gilliam whose film work I do not like and whose being a person work I am also recently an un-fan of.
All of these people naming Gilliam films at me, such a testament to his work that there are so many movies of his that I forgot about not enjoying
“OH IT’S SO EASY TO PILE ON WHEN SOMEONE SAYS SOMETHING DISGUSTING, WHERE WERE YOU WHEN NO ONE WAS TALKING OR THINKING ABOUT HIM”
“Hey, I don’t agree with what he said about the women asking to be sexually assaulted, but you are worse than him for saying you didn’t like his movies because I liked them”
This was my favorite response I’ve ever gotten to anything
“You are proving Terry Gillian’s point about mob rule by saying he is an asshole just because he said an asshole thing! THIS IS MOB RULE! YOU ARE NO BETTER THAN THE MOB THAT DIDN’T SEE ‘THE BROTHERS GRIMM!’”
I LOVE when people try this argument. It’s always a last-ditch point. Virtually EVERY industry is tainted by some evil. Every dime we make and spend is surrounded by it. The LEAST you can do, when things are starting to change, is BE ON THE SIDE OF THE CHANGERS.
Okay this has been fun but I gotta go to bed— big day tomorrow, putting flowers on Matt Damon’s grave (he said some dumb shit, got yelled at for it & I presume has died both career-wise and regular thanks to a mob).
