Obama would not fire him even though there were calls from his own party for his ouster. Was it because Brennan was willing to do the dirty work of the administration against our own citizen? That appears to be the case after his response about an ambassador unmasking Americans.
Here is John Brenna nearly choking when Rep. @TGowdySC asked him if any ambassador had requested the unmasking of a US citizen.
Brennan, just like when his agency was spying on the US Senate, knew it was openly spying on Americans by abusing its authority. If he did not then he was too incompetent to be the director in the first place.
Something also to remember Brenna missed the threat against Khobar Towers when he was CIA station chief in Saudi Arabia resulting in the death of 19 American military personnel. He also missed 9-11 while preparing Bush's daily intel brief, & reconstitution of ISI into ISIS.
Brennan's mismanagement of the CIA by allowing frivolous spying on Americans to include the US Senate is well documented. Perhaps if he'd directed that energy and focus on our enemies they'd not have become so belligerent. Russia's aggressive posture grew under Brennan's watch.
Brennan also missed the actions of Russia regarding Crimea and Eastern Ukraine despite numerous open sources reporting on the actions of Russia long before the annexation of Crimea. It was like he completely ignored it and later was merely reacting to it.
The media spends a lot of time pumping up Brennan as former CIA Director while overlooking his numerous examples of dereliction of duty. Brennan is not somebody to hold in high regard, he is somebody that broke the law while managing the CIA and was allowed to get away it.
Puzzling thing about Brennan is his shoddy field record allowed him to be promoted ahead of far more deserving people through TWO administrations, Bush and Obama. Neither president seemed to care about his deficient record. Why did either president keep him let alone promote him?
John Brennan is the CIA's equivalent of J. Edgar Hoover who abused his position when he was FBI Director. There are a lot of similarities between the two. Perhaps Brennan is concerned that this will be looked into as a result of these other investigations uncovering wrongdoing.
