I don't even know where to begin.

Chris Roberts, now in year 7 of Star Citizen + $180M of other people's money has now basically admitted that - as I've said all along - his schedules are pure bullshit designed to mislead backers in the interest of getting more money.
3.0 was rushed out in Dec 2017 amid major backer revolt. This was after over 18 months of unbridled hype.

For months I wrote articles that sources said it wasn't ready, was prone to performance & crash issues etc

Of course I got attacked.

Then it released.

It was DOA.
Then they changed the schedule type and format. Again. For the THIRD time.

Only this time, they said - for real - that they would be doing quarterly releases in bite sized chunks. Even did a new site.

3.1 was due out end of Q1/2018.

That's next week.

Last week, they released it to the Evocati (exclusive backer plebs who paid money for the privilege).

Aside from the myriad bug fixes and tweaks, it has the SAME issues with performance and crashes as 3.0.

Shockingly - as we've come to find out - they managed to make it WORSE
And, despite the fact that - aside from it being incomplete and not ready, like 3.0 before it, they seem pretty serious about releasing it next week.

It gets worse.

Which brings me to the latest drama that's just astonishing to me as a seasoned dev with 30+ yrs of experience.
In a recent broadcast, Chris announced that for 3.2, due out by end of Q2, he was going to take a poll in order to get the backers to VOTE on what they deemed to be important for the team to focus on.

You know, from the SAME schedule that THEY created.

I'm not making that up.
You can read my write-up as well as that of others in a post I made and updated this morning. Complete with the original broadcast and transcripts of same.

Trust me, you won't believe it.

In the past they have run polls which were not only meaningless, but were actually used as an excuse to do things they're NOT supposed to be doing. Things which they disguised as "giving backers control" when in fact it's pure bullshit and didn't give backers ANY control.
One such famous poll was the one in which they increased the scope of the game well beyond the capabilities of BOTH the teams and the engine. A move that sparked the now famous July Blog which I wrote in 2015.

It was the start of their journey from devs to scam artists.
To understand how and why that particular poll was not only meaningless, but was also a Trojan horse that led to the COMPLETE FAILURE of this project, read this show missive which I wrote about it.

This is the poll, complete with comments, on the section of the old website.

So now that 3.1 is destined to follow in the footsteps of 3.0 before it, they are now planning for how to strip yet another schedule of anything meaningful by blaming it on the backers for "voting" on what they felt the team should focus on.

Remember: they created the schedules
What I envision happening is that, as their personnel are now leaving the project faster than a sinking ship, they are losing the resources they have, thus hindering their ability to even deliver on anything tangible, let alone the humongous game they raised $180m to build.
So this poll is going to be their cover for - again - trimming the 2018 schedule which THEY created - as they don't stand a snowball in hell chance of EVER delivering ANYTHING tangible this year - or ever.

Meanwhile, sales which were periodic, are now regularly run - for months.
I've said it before. They neither have the team experience nor the tech to build this game in ANY way, shape or form. And the tech demo they currently call alpha, after 6 yrs of active dev + $180m, is PROOF of this.

What they DO have are a few whales funding it - for now.
The project is an industry laughing stock. Those who have left it, are the ones spreading all the info on just how FUBAR it all is.

The final collapse (long before Crytek buries them) is going to be the thing we write & talk about for decades.

I DID warn everyone.
