The history and depth of the US’ relationship with Saudi Arabia is underdiscussed. Most of my peers don’t realize how tight the relationship between our respective oligarchs is and the history of how it came to be.
The Embargo accelerated the relationship which continues to this day. It’s a major factor in our immoral foreign policy of the last 40+ years and perhaps the most foundational relationship underlying the Petrodollar / US fiat reserve currency status.
The Nixon Shock was announced in 1971, and became fully in place by 1973 - the same year as the OPEC Embargo. This broke the convertibility of dollars to gold, ringing in the era of fully fiat global currencies.
To prevent future embargoes / oil shortages the US joined forces w Saudi Arabia to support them militarily & facilitate the modernization of their country / infrastructure- undertaken by US multinationals w CIA ties such as Rand Corp & MAIN of course.
These companies were the Halliburton’s of that day & were intimately tied to those in positions of power / capable of influencing government policy in their favor.

They were the predecessors of today’s corporatist class & were equally adept at using your tax $ for their benefit.
To solidify the fiat dollar as the de facto world reserve currency, in tandem with Saudi Arabia’s influence, it was agreed upon that all Oil contracts worldwide would be settled in USD.

This mandated countries to buy our bonds /hold USD in order buy energy to power their economy
The advantage of being the global reserve currency cannot be understated. It’s let us run up a *mathematically impossible to pay back* national debt.

It’s exceedingly enriched the ruling class, the politicians, the oligarchs and generally those closest to the spigot of the fiat.
Not even taking into account Bitcoin and its inevitable conquering of the current order, there are serious cracks forming in the existing and comfortable petrodollar financial order we’ve grown accustomed to.

Just last week China introduced oil contracts in CNY. It’s now live.
So which major American families was it that formed the foundational business and dynastic ties with the ruling families of Saudi Arabia? The Bush’s of course.

There is so much info available on this topic if you seek it out.
These two books played a huge role in influencing my perspective on the global power structure. Once you see how intimately their interests are connected, you are able to connect many dots that’s previously seemed inextricably irrational.
Fun fact: on 9/11, Osama Bin Laden’s brother was at a Carlyle Group conference in DC shmoozing with George H W Bush that morning.

When all flights were grounded in the aftermath of the tragedy, somehow the Bin Laden family members were able to jet on home.
In the wake of the trauma of 9/11, we the populace let our government convince us it was good idea to invade two countries that had nothing to do with the attack.

In fact, most people havent internalized that 15 of the 19 hijackers were from Saudi Arabia.

0 Iraqis, 0 Afghans
“Never let a tragedy go to waste” - Rham Emmanuel

9/11 was exploited to intervene in the Middle East to solidify US & Saudi interests in the region. Some estimates claim that ONE MILLION Iraqis were killed as a result of our intervention.

Please pause & consider that number.
Now that everyone cares about the deficit all of the sudden (because Trump is the president) consider what could have been done with the ONE TRILLION+ DOLLARS that was wasted.

It could literally have fully funded whatever your #1 most important cause in the country is 10x over.
These wars were senseless. They created the instability/ chaos that created ISIS, led to our disastrous intervention in Libya, cost many American lives & set into motion the refugee crisis in Europe.

(Guess how many refugees Saudi Arabia welcomed into their country? Precisely 0)
Mark my words, the neocons / military industrial complex / deep statists are gearing up to coax you into believing you need to support another war.

“To spread democracy!”

“They hate us for our freedoms!”

“We’ll be greeted as victors!”
Syria has been the last remaining target for some time. This tweet from 2013 shows that they were trying to push the narrative of US Intervention for at least the last 5 years.

If you do one thing from this tweetstorm, watch this video:
These politicians are never “humanitarians”. Their tears are fake; their moral concern for the children abroad is completely manufactured; their cries to your emotion are artificial and solely agenda driven.
War is a racket. Period.

If this doesn’t resonate with your deepest self or you’ve never read Major General Smedley Butler’s timeless proclamation, I encourage you to read this short text: archive.org/stream/WarIsAR…

He was the highest ranking member of he military at that time.
It’s symbolically and operationally important that the petrodollar world order came into being alongside each other
Tangent: most people are surprised to learn there was no Federal Income Tax in the US until 1913 🤔🤔 ... the same year that the unconstitutional Federal Reserve was born and took control of the most important aspect of an economy: control of the money supply.
To the uninitiated I concede it sounds crazy that the nature of the monetary system drives so much of the world’s current ills.

But it’s honestly true and why I’ve dedicated my life to bitcoin. We can starve the welfare/warfare state.
Anyway, it’s absolutely absurd that Saudi Arabia’s intolerance and authoritarianism is ignored and goes unprotested by a society that seems to value the veneered signaling of moral outrage more than a consistent moral philosophy.
Who has caused more suffering in the world? James Damore or the Saudi regime? Which of these two *legally* considers women 2nd class citizens, as opposed to the one who wrote a reasonably well-cited east on biological differences and how to best get more women into engineering?
Unfortunately our outrage usually fails to consider the bigger picture. Our emotions get dominated by media narratives

Prioritize macroaggressions over microagressions. Have consistent moral positions & stick with them

Prepare yourself to thrive in chaos
These people are sick
Earlier this week, a US-backed, Saudi-led bombing campaign "Double Tapped" a wedding in Yemen (the poorest country on Earth) - killing over 20 individuals including the BRIDE.
"Double Tapping" is the process of doing one bombing round, waiting until others rush in to help the wounded and then pulverizing the now larger pool of selfless individuals.

It's sick on so many levels.
Any time you hear US politicians speak to you from their veneered moral high horse and/or condemn certain nations, remember that actions speak louder than words and they have a psychopathically high level ability to tolerate cognitive dissonance.
