Last night I found myself trapped on a claustrophobic stairwell - masked male activists directly blocking my progress up the stairs, other masked activists behind me. The situation was extremely hostile, and felt briefly very dangerous. I did not know what was going to happen and
feared for my personal safety. I think adrenaline carried me through the rest of the evening and I'm so proud of the successful meeting that we had in spite of it all. But on my way home now with time and space to reflect, I am drained, angry, and upset actually.

All I am is a
woman who wishes to preserve her sex based rights as they exist in law. And for that I am to be terrorised, verbally abused, and put in fear of being assaulted.

By men. Yes I know they have their female supporters, but the people directly blocking my path last night - the ones
being physically threatening towards me were male.

So this is the world we live in now? This is progressive? This is ethical? This is radical? This is the culture my daughter now has to navigate?

Good god. Good fucking god.
I wonder what it will take for more people to wake up to this: this movement that appropriates ideas of progressivism, of feminism, while it systematically takes apart women's rights.

I wonder how the people involved in it will come to view their behaviour too. I think with
maturity will come shame.

I know that I will not stop fighting for women's rights. And that more women and men are seeing the reality of what's at stake every day.

The demands of a few cannot usurp the rights of the many. There has to be another way.
