1. I was angered and disturbed to find out this weekend that I was targeted by Black Cube (former Mossad operatives) and their efforts to discredit Obama officials and supporters of the #IranDeal.

Here's what happened >>

2. A few months ago, I received an email request for an interview by a person who presented himself as a journalist. I receive plenty of these, and there was nothing about this request to cause suspicion. >>
3. The interview itself was also quite conventional, at least to begin with. Nothing was said in the interview that hadn't already been explained by me in my book on the Iran deal. >>

4. But things took a strange turn in the second part, as this pretend journalist tried to goad me into agreeing that the Obama admin had pursued the nuclear deal for economic and financial reasons.

I had seen no evidence to suggest that in my research. On the contrary. >>
5. I held the view that Obama should have engaged the US business community and sought out their support for the #IranDeal. If they had been brought on board, by including the lifting of some primary sanctions, the deal would have been more difficult to kill today, I believed. >>
6. But the Obama Administration did not want to in any way shape or form do anything that would give the impression that the deal was driven by anything but nonproliferation concerns.

So I pushed back hard against the supposed journalist's line of questions. >>
7. I didn't think much more of it until I was informed over the weekend that the gentleman in question was not a journalist, but an operative of this Israeli intelligence firm.

>>
8. That's upsetting enough, but the fact that this firm was hired by the Trump Administration to spy on and entrap US individuals and organizations, is beyond reprehensible.
>>
9. But it does fit a long-standing pattern in which proponents of War have engaged in extensive efforts to discredit and silence voices in favor of a diplomatic solution with Iran.

>>
10. My organization and I have been a particular target of theirs, as it's been critical for them to silence any Iranian-American voice opposing their plans for war.

This latest move, however, definitely takes it to a new level of ugliness.
