On March 23, 2020, Reiter et al published an article in Life Sciences speculating that #melatonin could be used to treat the emerging #COVID19 pandemic.

In April 2020 Dr. Richard Neel of #Texas adopted the practice of treating his #COVID patients with high dose melatonin, and since then, has successfully treated over 5K COVID patients with melatonin, many with co-morbidities. Most patients were able to avoid hospitalization.
In February 2022, Drs. Neel and Reiter et al published an updated appeal to the medical profession to consider melatonin as a treatment for COVID.
