I am astonished at low quality vulgar lies perpetrated in this article to suit Islamist agenda of the author!

Because if anything History of Karnataka gives completely diff pic than this fiction. Let me briefly narrate activities of this "peaceful traders" 1/n
Article starts with romantic tell of conversion of Hindu king of Malabar coast in the lifetime of Prophet himself & foundation of mosque which dates back to 7th century.

That myth however has already been rebuked by @TrueIndology in this article.

History of Malik Kafur's raids on south Indian temples is well known to be repeated here..

But I won't be surprised if this same tribe claims tomorrow that he was just a peaceful trader sent by Allaudin Khilji to buy diamonds & Jewels from Hindu temples of south! 3/n
One of the earliest established Islamic dynasty of Karnataka was Bahamani sultanate whose foundation coincided with foundation of Vijayanagar itself. Constant conflict between this two empires showcases anything but the activity of peaceful Islamic traders! 4/n
For instance during the war between Muhmmad I of Bahmani sultanate against Vijayanagar 400,000 Hindus were slaughtered including some 10,000 priests as proudly proclaimed by Islamic sources. Among his other achievement was catapulting Vinayak Deo - a Telugu prince into fire. 5/n
His Nephew - Muhmmad II is celebrated by leftists for organizing relief measures during the terrible famine that struck Deccan during his reign. What is however not mentioned is that his relief measures were restricted solely for the Muslims & aimed at gaining more converts! 6/n
Bahmani sultanate was eventually replaced by Adil Shahi sultanate of Bijapur in Karnataka. Under their rule Bijapur became stronghold of Sufism in India. But contrary to well nurtured myth that sufism was hardly peaceful or liberal in outlook/. 7/n
For eg this is how medieval account glorifies Warrior Sufi Sheikh Sarmast - Arabian trader by origin. At the head of the army of 700 Ghazis conquering and slaughtering hindus

In Islamist fashion then it declares how Hindus seeing "fine virtues" of Sarmast converted to Islam! 8/n
He wasn't the only one his kind though. For eg Pir Ma'bari Khandayat was another warrior sufi who accompanied Malik Kafur's army during his conquest of south India.

Once again from the "peaceful" community of Malabari Muslim traders as the name suggests! 9/n
Sufi Pir Ma'bari broke the heads of Hindus with his iron bar and drove the Brahmins out of their Agrahara in the neighbourhood of Bijapur. Really peaceful Sufi...🙏 10/n
And there were many such fanatics Sufis who waged Jihad against Hindus in Karnataka and either slaughtered them or forcefully converted them...

But in leftist rhetoric they were just peaceful Sufis! 11/n
And ofcourse how can we forget Tipu Sultan - that tyrant of Mysore...Whose sword put to death many non Muslims on sword or converted them.

Ofcourse once again he was just on some trade mission on Malabar coast! 12/n
It is also worth mentioning here in the courts of Bahamani & Adil Shahi Sultanates of Karnataka, there was intense animosity between Muslim migrants from middle east especially Persians like Mahmud Gawan who came as traders and local Dakhhani converts of south.
It was infact intense rivalry and intrigue between these migrant Muslims and local converts that ultimately led to the downfall of Bahmanis & weakened Adil shahis. So even when one keep aside Hindu persecution factor, this migrants were intensely hated even by local Muslims! 14/n
In short there is hardly any evidence to back their claim of Islam coming with trade on Indian shores. All they have is speculation that since trade requires peace, harmony and prosperity, these people were peaceful in nature. 15/n
But even if we check the later Indian history we find hardly any support for this speculation. Portuguese came as traders and imparted intolerable cruelty on Hindus during Goan inquisition and forcefully converted many. 16/n
And we have some recorded instances pointing towards it. For eg this inscription by Silahara ruler Anantpala mentions how he defeated Yavanas (ie Arab traders) who after getting powerful on Konkan coast started attacking temples and brahmins. 17/n
Literary sources from Gujarat also mentions similar confrontations between Arab traders and local Hindu and Jain merchants (and even Zoroastrians). So there was hardly any unanimous bonhomie between Arab traders and local populace as the article asserts. 18/n
In conclusion available historical evidence gives hardly any concrete support to this liberal cum Islamist propaganda of Islam by trade and not by sword. Only trade that was there was for the trade of religion for your life!
