I don't know if I'm remembering this wrong, but I thought I once heard @FINALLEVEL say that if "they" want to hide things from you, they put it in a book in the public library. The public libraries are such a tremendous resource. Some of us can afford to buy these books from
our favorite independent bookstores @indiebound (hint), but many of us cannot. When people try to limit public libraries, they are essentially depriving poor people of the opportunity to read. They are just as much of a public utility that needs protection as your water & power.
And that also means protecting the #publictransit so people can reach the libraries. & it means paying the librarians & other professionals who work there.
I assume that when a book circulates, the library system purchases more copies & more books by the author & publisher. Can anybody confirm that?
Assuming that's the case, find an academic press book in #history or #sociology or #science or #ecology or any other important discipline at your library, check it out & read it. Help your family & friends find reading materials at the library so they get hooked as well!
