The #resistance is needed now more than ever, and not just because the #Mueller investigation is getting closer to blowing this group of grifters out of the water: <THREAD>

Trump, and everyone that supports him are at war with the values that could make us a better nation.

On nearly every level, Trump and his racist republican ilk are doing everything they can to be on the wrong side of history. It's straight up villainy.

Inequality, racial tensions, corporations with too much power, imprisoning brown people in private prisons, healthcare, taxes, the environment, public safety, and of course, common fucking decency. All that and more is at stake.

and the *reason* we're fighting so hard right now? We as a country didn't #showup.

We got lazy and apathetic. We decided our votes didn't matter, or wasted our privilege on moronic 3rd party distraction candidates. We bought into narratives by the media and fake social accounts that wanted nothing more than to sow clicks and discord.

And so here we are, slowly coming to terms with the sheer scale of depravity that we've allowed within our country. Politics driven by fear, racism, colonialism, greed, control, and hypocritical religious pandering.

We see the true colors of our fellow citizens who seem shockingly OK with what's going on- their willful ignorance or lazy justification of anything that's going on right now signals complicity.

We made our bed as a country, and now it's time for us to choose who we're going to be:

Apathetic people caught up in the inconsequential bullshit of a system that doesn't serve them;

or

People who refuse to stop fighting a country that's better for all, full stop.

We can't (and shouldn't) escape the fact that the US was built on genocide, slavery, colonialism, and greed. To ignore it is to do a disservice to all the lives that were ruined along the way.

We can, however, strive to make this nation one that's rooted in empathy + equality.

So I ask you, my fellow brothers and sisters of the #resistance-are you committed to achieving that goal?

Are you committed to voting out every public servant who pushes our country in the wrong direction?

Are you committed to taking to the streets when they won't listen or break the law?

Are you committed to making this country one that tries to better its wrongs from the past so that we can have a better future for all?

As for the people who *still* support this racist Cheetoh in a shitty suit- they're a lost cause. They made their swamp, let them lay in it.

So in closing, The #resistance is needed now more than ever. I love you all for showing up so far. It's time to keep pushing and to wake others from their capitalism-induced daze. From now to November and beyond, we can never revert to apathy again. We can't afford it.
