Fun with demographic data: here's the 18-21 age cohort in China since the turn of the millennium. This is why I call China a really big Cape Breton.
I kid. Even Cape Breton hasn't seen a 40% drop in 18-21 year-olds in the last ten years. That's really something.
This is still the most amazing thing in the history of post-secondary education: net enrolment rates (total students/18-21 year old population) China, 2000-2016
Here's net enrolments by province. Tianjin and Beijing are well over 100% (meaning lots of older students and lots of people form outside province studying there).
