~ How to find a mentor to fast track your progress ~

THREAD 👇
Gaining the mentorship of those who've done it before you is the SINGLE best way to "level up" in this world. They've already done what you want to do. Their guidance is absolutely invaluable. They will save you SO much time/money. It's ridiculous.

So, you need a mentor.
But, getting a mentor is easier said than done. People who DM me asking me to mentor them know this (lol). You can't just ask for mentorship. No one will be willing to sacrifice their valuable time for some random on Twitter who's done NOTHING for them.
People always say,

"You need to provide value."

Which is true. But incredibly vague. Specifically, you need to do one (or more) of the following:

* Save them time
* Save them money
* Make them money
* Give them something they want
* Be funny/entertaining/cool as fuck
You also need to prove to them that you have actually taken ACTION to do whatever it is you want help with. Asking "How do I start?" is a terrible question. Because it shows that you've done NOTHING to actually start.

You haven't even tried.

Why would someone help you?
You need to actually DO before you ask for mentorship.

You'd be amazed at far this goes. I'm MUCH more likely to help someone who shows me they've made a few sales but are unsure of something, than someone with no proof of anything who asks a general ass question.
It helps a whole lot if you already have a skill/asset that could be of value to your potential mentor. If you have no skills or assets, you NEED to cultivate them. A personal brand is an asset. Copywriting is a skill. Other connections are an asset.

Etc. etc. etc.
Asking

"What can I do for you?"

Is also not a good question.

Because it implies you have no skills or assets. Even if you could do something for them, it would likely be a huge time suck on their end. It wouldn't be worth it. So they won't mentor you.
If you want a mentor, you have to offer something of value to them (see above).

Any effort they put into helping you must be ROI positive. Think of it from their perspective. Get in their shoes. Actually do your research before you send a selfish ass DM.

It will show.
Once you've done this, you can now DM them.

Do a quick intro. Tell them SPECIFICALLY what you're struggling with. Offer something SPECIFIC that (based on your research and your skills/assets) you think they'd find valuable. Thank them for their time.

Then go about your day.
Most will either politely decline your offer or not respond. This is normal. Don't get discouraged. If you do this with enough people (the right way), you're bound to find one willing to help you.
Keep in mind that people are extremely busy. Any effort spent on you is time directly taken away from them. Time they can't get back. Mentoring you will also likely make them lose money. You have to counteract this by offering something more valuable than money.
* Figure out who can help you
* Figure out how you can help them
* Cultivate valuable skills/assets
* Reach out
* Be willing to give and give and give for NOTHING in return
* Understand the value of their time
* ACTUALLY PUT INTO PRACTICE WHAT THEY TEACH YOU
* Stay in touch
FIN.
