NEWS: The Departments of Justice and Education are rescinding guidance adopted during the Obama administration that called for considering race in college admissions. 
Education Secretary Betsy DeVos said in a statement provided to @meredithllee: "The Supreme Court has determined what affirmative action policies are constitutional, and the Court’s written decisions are the best guide for navigating this complex issue..."
@meredithllee More from DeVos, via the statement: "...Schools should continue to offer equal opportunities for all students while abiding by the law."
@meredithllee The announcement was expected today. The new guidance will not have the force of law, but schools will presumably be able to defend themselves from lawsuits by following administration policy.
